USA check-in times (from 18th July 2017)

The US Department of Homeland Security now requires airlines to implement additional security checks for flight operating into and over their airspace.

There will now be enhanced screening for those carrying large electronic devises.

In view of this the time taken to pass through security is expected to substantially increase and the airlines are recommending a 3 hour check in time for these flights.

Easyjet consolidates its operation to the North Terminal Gatwick

This Wednesday (25th January 2017) sees the final major changes to the terminals at Gatwick.

British Airways are moving all their operations to the South Terminal with Virgin Atlantic moving to the North.  Leaving Easyjet (which currently operates from both terminals) to consolidate its operation around the North terminal.


Deltic Preservation Society 40th Anniversary Event

2017 is the 40th Anniversary of the foundation of the Deltic Preservation Society (which Avocet Travel Management sponsor).  In conjunction with the National Railway Museum/KOYLI Group, Beaver Sports and our hosts the Bluebell Railway we would like to announce a special event at the Bluebell Railway on Friday 6th to Sunday 8th October 2017.

The event will feature 4 working Deltics, D9002, D9009, 55019 and 55022 and we are working on a surprise visitor and will be a DELTIC only event.  We are at the early planning stages at the moment but some of the ideas we are following include at least one dining train on the Bluebell and if possible another on the main railway network organised by Avocet Travel Management, anybody who would like to express an interest in this would they please contact Neil at . Jason Cross at the East Midlands Photographic Society has been asked to organise an event on the Friday evening.

Newquay Airport has announced a new seasonal route to Cork.  Operated by Aer Lingus Regional the twice weekly summer only service commences operation on 6th May 2017.

Banyan Tree signs innovative partnership with Accor


Banyan Tree Holdings has announced that it has entered into an agreement with AccorHotels designed to allow the French hospitality giant to design and manage Banyan Tree branded hotels around the world. AccorHotels will invest an initial €16 million in Singapore-based Banyan Tree and both parties will then co-develop the brands owned by Banyan Tree.

Virgin Atlantic to add new Los Angeles flights from Spring 2017
